BEFORE and DURING
We did close on the selling of our current home and the purchase
of our new (to us) home on the same day.
It was an unbelievably smooth process.
The family whom we bought the "new" house from,
bought our current home for investment property
(They had just built a new home).
They gave us 30 days to stay in our current home
while we work on the new house.
In an earlier post, you saw BEFORE pictures of the house.
Here are a few DURING pictures.
Hopefully, soon I can post some AFTER pictures.
The major work is going on in the front part of the house right now,
and we will make our way back as time (and money) allow.
The largest project has been the removal of a wall
between the kitchen and den. The house didn't have a
dining room, so this opened up the breakfast nook, and made
a large dining area.
We are also bringing tile and hardwood flooring to these areas.
The rest of the house got wallpaper (lots!) removed and painted.
The snow today slowed down the work, but hopefully
the rest of the week will be productive.
We are blessed and excited!
This first picture (with the border) is what we will use as the game room.
It will remain as is for now.Below is the Master Bedroom. I would like to hardwood at
some point, but for now, the carpet is in fine shape.

Below is the kitchen. We removed a set of hangdown cabinets
in order to open the area up more to the dining area.
The cabinets will be painted a cream color
(Heavy Cream by Olympic).
We have chosen a granite countertop.

Below is the sunken den. We painted the brown paneling
Mountain Trail. This is the darker of the 3 colors
I'm using in most of the house.
I've never had dark wood trim in a home before, so I'm
feeling the need to lighten everything up.
This room will have hardwood flooring.

Below is the area where we removed the wall.
Hardwood will be added here too.
This looks onto a screened in porch.
I think french doors would be beautiful here;o)

I love the house more each time I go out.
Many decor aspect are quite different from
what I have now, and it's taking some imagination.
All the darkwood and beams are growing on me;o)

Visits, suggestions, and advice are TOTALLY welcome!!!!
